The plants are from top to bottom: Foxgloves (stateliness, youth), Harebells (humility, grief) and Juniper (asylum, protection). I love things like floriography (flower meanings) and other secret languages. I love how you can send entire messages in a bouquet or by wearing hair ornaments in a certain way, or how you place your flatware on a table during and after a meal. It just shows that there is meaning and beauty everywhere.
Another secret thing about this painting is the glow in the dark wash I put on the skull, and surrounding the fox and rabbit. We don't typically look at art in the dark. I like having this eerie little surprise waiting for whoever turns off the lights.
